The Chance Hub

Professionals & Employers

Working together for children with SEND

Whether you work in education, health, social care, or employment — The Chance Hub can help you support the families you serve.

Why it matters

Families need professionals who truly get it

Parents and carers of children with SEND often feel unheard, overwhelmed, and unsure how to navigate the systems that are meant to help them. When professionals understand the lived experience of these families — the late nights, the paperwork, the battles for the right support — everything changes.

The Chance Hub bridges that gap. We work alongside professionals and employers to build genuine understanding, reduce barriers, and create environments where SEND families feel seen, respected, and supported.

Refer a parent or family

Know a family who could use some support?

The Chance Hub works alongside professionals and organisations supporting families across Luton. If you are working with a parent or carer of a child or young person with SEND who could benefit from some additional support, you can refer them to The Chance Hub. Our support is informal, friendly and family-led.

We can provide:

  • A listening ear and a safe space to talk
  • Help identifying what support may be useful
  • Signposting to local services and organisations
  • Information about community support available to families
  • Access to our parent and carer support sessions
  • Information about The Chance Hub programmes and activities
  • Encouragement and practical support with identifying possible next steps

Important: We are not a replacement for statutory, clinical or specialist services. Our role is often to help families make sense of what is available and feel more confident about taking the next step.

Referrals are welcome from schools, colleges, Family Hubs, health and social care professionals, community organisations and other services working with families.

Support for employers

Supporting employees who are parent carers

Do you have an employee or colleague who is also a parent or carer of a child with SEND? Balancing work with caring responsibilities can sometimes be challenging, particularly when families are trying to navigate education, appointments, services or changes at home.

Employers do not need to have all the answers. The Chance Hub can provide employees with an independent and friendly place to talk through their situation, find out what local support may be available and connect with other parents and carers.

Employers can:

  • Signpost employees directly to The Chance Hub
  • Share information about our parent and carer support sessions
  • Contact us to find out more about support available locally for SEND families

Supporting an employee does not always mean solving the problem. Sometimes connecting them with the right support can make a significant difference.

Why partner with us

Built on lived experience

The Chance Hub was founded by parents and carers who have navigated the SEND system themselves. We don't speak about families — we speak as families. That authenticity is what makes our work with professionals genuinely impactful.

  • Trusted by families across Luton and Bedfordshire
  • Flexible — we come to you, or you come to us
  • Committed to honest, non-judgemental conversations
  • Funded to offer sessions free of charge to families
