Parents and Carers

The Chance Hub is in its early stages—built from real lived experience, and shaped alongside parents

With the right support and simple, thoughtful approaches, employers and professionals can play a powerful role in opening doors for young people with SEND.

Together, we have an opportunity to push boundaries and help Luton lead the way in creating more inclusive, forward-thinking opportunities.

How we support you

"Grow With Me" (Parent/Carer Workshops)

A gentle starting point for parents and carers who want to feel more prepared for their child’s future.

We’re currently running a pilot series of small, supportive workshops for parents and carers of children with SEND.  This has been funded through the Luton Citizen Fund.*

The sessions work with parents and carers of children in these age groups:

5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-16.

These sessions are designed to help you:

  • notice your child’s strengths early
  • feel more confident about what comes next
  • start thinking about the future in a calm, manageable way

* The Luton  Citizen Fund is funded through Luton Rising, Luton Council, and Be Active Bedfordshire in partnership with BLCF.

What makes this different

This isn’t about pressure, plans, or having all the answers.

It’s about:

  • creating space to think
  • having real conversations
  • and taking small steps forward

Built from lived experience

This workshop has been shaped by real journeys — including my own.

It focuses on the things many of us wish we had earlier:

  • someone to talk things through with
  • time to reflect
  • and a way to start preparing without feeling overwhelmed

Why this exists

“I am now the person I wish I had at the start of my SEND journey.”

Pamela Blasse - SEND parent and Founder of The Chance Hub

The Chance Hub is about creating the kind of support I couldn’t find —
a space for real conversations, shared experiences,
and practical ways to feel more prepared for what comes next.

Be part of the "Grow With Me" pilot

We will soon be inviting a small number of SEND parents and carers to take part in our pilot workshops.

Your experience and feedback will help shape how this grows.

You don’t have to wait until everything feels urgent to start thinking about the future.

What we're building next

We’re in the early stages of developing:

  • Parent support and mentoring
  • Looking forward Post-16
  • Supported work experience opportunities
  • Stronger links between families and employers

These are being shaped carefully, with parents at the centre.
