Why We Exist

I am, first and foremost, a mum to two young men with SEND. Everything I know about navigating the SEND world started at home — through years of assessments, long waits, moments of uncertainty, small victories, and the deep hope that every parent carries for their child’s future. My lived experience is at the heart of everything I do.

Professionally, I have spent more than 15 years working within Local Authority education and SEND pathways, supporting families and working alongside services, schools and colleges. But it’s my personal journey that truly shaped my understanding of how confusing, emotional and overwhelming the system can feel. I know what it’s like to be searching for answers, to feel lost in the maze, and to keep going because your child needs you to.

The Chance Hub was created from this blend of experience and love — a place built by someone who has walked the path myself and wanted to make it easier for others. My mission is simple: to help parents and carers feel more supported, more informed and less alone, especially during the transitions that matter most.

I bring over ten years of experience working with children, young people and their families. Through this work, I have gained a deep understanding of what parents and carers need when supporting a child with SEND — the guidance, the reassurance, and the reminder that they don’t have to do it all alone.

Working alongside young people with SEND has been one of the greatest joys of my career. Their honesty, strength and individuality continue to inspire me every day.

I am passionate about helping families feel supported and confident, and I care deeply about giving every young person the chance to fulfil their potential — in education, in work, and in life.

This is why I am proud to be part of The Chance Hub: a place where families are understood, empowered, and never left to navigate the maze on their own.

 I am a proud mum of three children, including my youngest son, who is 19 and lives with Autism, Global Developmental Delay and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

When my son began struggling in school, I found myself overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. Support felt distant and hard to access — until I met Pamela, founder of The Chance Hub. 

As a fellow SEND parent, Pamela understood my worries, my fears and the weight of trying to advocate alone. The connection between their families became a lifeline, giving me the strength, knowledge and confidence to continue fighting for the support my son deserved.

Through Pamela’s guidance, I learned how to navigate services, ask the right questions and work alongside professionals to help my son thrive. That experience transformed their journey and inspired me to offer the same hope and reassurance to others.

Today, I am driven by my son’s resilience and determination. I am proud to be part of The Chance Hub team, helping to build a space where parents feel supported, informed and never alone. I want every family to know that there is help, there is hope, and together we can make sure no parent has to navigate the SEND maze without support.
